Connecting broad hematology practice
with the development of new treatments.

Hematology and Oncology at Nihon University Itabashi Hospital welcomes collaboration with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, contract research organizations (CROs), and academic investigators in Japan and overseas.

We care for patients across a broad spectrum of benign and malignant hematologic disorders. This clinical foundation supports discussions about new clinical trials and collaborative research.

A broad clinical scope

Our practice spans diagnosis, treatment, relapse, and continuing care, allowing us to consider study opportunities at different stages of a patient’s clinical course.

Hematologic malignancies

Lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS).

Benign and other disorders

Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), aplastic anemia, paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), hemophilia A and B, von Willebrand disease, and acquired hemophilia.

Active screening and trial recruitment

We actively identify potential trial participants in routine clinical practice and screen candidates against each protocol’s inclusion and exclusion criteria.

We review disease subtype, disease status, prior treatment, and overall health when discussing appropriate study opportunities with patients. Participation is considered following an explanation of the study and is based on the patient’s understanding, decision, and informed consent.

Specialist treatment and coordinated trial support

Our services include outpatient and inpatient systemic therapy and chemotherapy, autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and CAR-T cell therapy for relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma. We also participate in CAR-T clinical trials, including trials for multiple myeloma.

We coordinate care with transfusion and cell therapy services, clinical laboratories, radiation oncology, pharmacy, and other relevant departments before, during, and after treatment. We work with the hospital’s Clinical Research Center and other support services to assess the operational requirements of each study.

Connected with regional clinical practice

Based in Itabashi, Tokyo, we work with referring physicians and affiliated hospitals across Tokyo and southern Saitama. Our physicians also provide care at associated regional hospitals. These clinical relationships support continuity of care and information sharing from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.

Discuss a potential collaboration

We welcome new clinical trial proposals, site feasibility assessments, and research collaborations, including discussions at the planning stage.
